# API Gateway Development for CARAUKTION

**CARAUKTION** is a Swiss company in the field of vehicle marketing. After successful collaboration with the subsidiary **CAROUTLET** in 2022, CARAUKTION specifically sought an experienced TypeScript developer with solid knowledge of the Google Cloud Console at the end of 2024 to further develop its own **API Gateway** in the long term.

Since then, there has been collaboration in the **API Gateway Team**, where a central gateway between internal services and external data providers is the focus. This gateway is based on **Firebase Services** and includes:

-   **Cloud Run Functions**, which consume external APIs and process them internally
-   **Caching mechanisms** to reduce external requests
-   An internal **Frontend Tool**, which enables access and monitoring

Throughout the collaboration, existing functionalities were expanded, and in Q1 2025, the implementation of a **second generation of the gateway** was started – with state-of-the-art architecture, security mechanisms, and clear scalability for future requirements.

The partnership is designed to be long-term and focuses on continuous further development of the system.
