# Modern real estate website for Freund Immobilien Trier

**Freund Immobilien** is a real estate company from Trier that combines regional market knowledge with contemporary marketing strategies. A **new website** should meet this demand while also providing space for independent content management, technological efficiency, and design clarity.

## Requirements for the new website

-   **Easy and independent management of content**
-   **Multilingualism** (DE/EN) to address the cross-border target audience
-   **Clear, minimalist design** with high-quality visual language
-   **Automated integration of real estate objects** via an interface to the internal broker software

The design concept as well as the portrait photos of Mr. Freund were created by [Fabio Meyer](https://www.instagram.com/_fabio.meyer_/). After an initial **kick-off in August 2025**, the project was further developed and refined in an iterative process.

## Technical implementation

For the technical implementation, the choice fell on **Astro** for the **frontend**, to ensure maximum design freedom. To ensure **high performance** and **fast loading times**, a static site generation (SSG) was chosen.

As CMS, **Payload CMS** was used, specifically tailored to the requirements of Freund Immobilien. For the integration of the real estate objects, a **custom import interface** was developed:

-   The broker software stores property information as ZIP files via FTP
-   The import function automatically unpacks the data, analyzes the contents, and imports missing images and text data into a custom-developed property collection in the CMS
-   This eliminates the need for manual entry of images and texts for new properties

## Design highlights

The website features **visual animations**, which are used specifically for user guidance and mood creation.

On the **‘WohnArt’ page**, individual **furniture pieces are animated in the hero section**, creating a high-quality, dynamic first impression. The inscription 'WohnArt' is highlighted by a **typographic animation** in which the word transforms into an italic variant to emphasize the part 'Art', thus highlighting the artistic design.

The **homepage** also uses subtle animations: First, the slogan appears animated, followed by the background image. This sequence **specifically directs attention** and gives the entry more depth.

Another feature is found in the section on the **added value concept**: Here, a specially developed **‘Renovation Animation’** was implemented. Initially, an image of the original living space is shown, which then automatically transitions into the image designed after the renovation – supported by a gentle **lighting effect**, which visually underscores the transformation process.
