The association nestwärme e.V. runs an inclusive daycare in Trier and sought a modern solution at the beginning of 2021 to reach parents directly, discreetly, and in real-time through a communication channel. This led to the Nestwärme KiTa App – an iOS and Android app for digital parent communication and organization of KiTa everyday life.

The app offers the following features:

  • News: Central messages for all parents, including read confirmations, file attachments, or links
  • Group feed: Messages for specific groups – visible only to related parents
  • Private feed: Direct messages from educators to individual parents
  • Calendar with feedback feature: Overview of all appointments with confirmation of participation or cancellation
  • Cancel child: Easy cancellation due to illness or delay directly via the app

The app significantly facilitates communication between the KiTa team and parents, reduces paper use, and creates transparency in everyday life.

The app was developed in early 2021 with Flutter . Nils Lauterbach supported the planning and conception.
