Website and CMS further development of the Take Memories brand websites
Q4/2023

Take Memories is a travel organization for tailored luxury travels – from safaris in Africa to cultural journeys around the world to your own desert camp in Oman. The company is a partner for extraordinary experiences that make travel dreams come true.
In December 2023, Take Memories was looking for a web developer to work long-term on the further development of the websites and content management systems of the brands. This led to the collaboration with Take Memories for which I am further developing the websites of the brands Canvas Club Oman , Safari Memories , Gorilla Memories and Saudi Memories . My task includes the continuous further development of the system based on Payload CMS and Astro, as well as the adaptation of the content and functionalities to the specific needs of the brands.
During our collaboration, several important milestones were achieved: In the first quarter of 2024, the Safari Memories website was completed and launched. The CMS was specifically adjusted to allow for a more flexible page and URL structure.
In the second quarter of 2024, a comprehensive modernization of the header and navigation across all websites followed – both in terms of design and functionality.
A central highlight was the introduction of a site-wide search function in the third quarter of 2024 – an important technical component for the planned migration of the over 800-page strong Take Memories main website, which is scheduled to launch in the second quarter of 2025.
As part of these developments, all websites were adapted to the requirements of WCAG 2.1 to comply with the European Accessibility Act (EAA). This included, among other things, the development of a new color system that ensures that the various text-color combinations of the brand websites have sufficient contrasts – a crucial step towards greater digital accessibility.
