Self-help Appointment Booking Assistant

The non-profit organization nestwärme e.V. supports people in challenging life situations with the project ‘Blickwechsel’ – through emotional support, coaching, and help for self-help. The offer is discreet, individual, and topic-specific – supervised by a network of experienced coaches.

To make appointment scheduling as easy and accessible as possible for those seeking advice, a digital booking assistant was developed. This takes users step by step to the appropriate appointment selection – based on the chosen topic, their own time availability, and the respective coaching offering.

Overview of functions:

• Topic-based appointment selection: Users receive suitable appointments based on their concerns
• Availability management for coaches: Coaches maintain their available time slots via a dedicated input mask
• Notification system: When a coaching session is booked, the responsible coach is automatically informed

The technical implementation took place in early 2021 using the web framework Django, in close cooperation with Nils Lauterbach, who has been conceptually accompanying the project.
